David began his career in comedy with multi-award winning sketch trio The Penny Dreadfuls, performing five sell-out runs at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. His one-man character sketch show Shamblehouse received wide critical acclaim. In 2017 he created Inside the Comedian , a spoof interview show where guest comedians must tell anecdotes from a fictitious career in entertainment. Since 2006, David has written and performed with sketch trio The Penny Dreadfuls alongside Humphrey Ker and Thom Tuck. After a run of hugely successful shows at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe they found their home on BBC Radio 4, creating two series of The Brothers Faversham , a fictional biographical anthology of Victorian Britain's greatest family, and a string of ten historical comedy plays.
